ABOUT AMY
Amy
Demma,
a New York State licensed attorney, is a
long-term family and children's advocate
beginning her legal career advising parents
of mentally and disabled children at the
Association for the Help of Retarded
Children. She has served on the Mother and
Child's HIV Task Force of the Brooklyn
Women's Bar Association and is credentialed
in Family Mediation through the Harvard Law
School Mediation Program.
Passionately committed
to family advocacy, Amy is a proud affiliate
of RESOLVE: The
National Infertility Association,
holding a past Board
position as
Education
Chairperson for RESOLVE,
New York City
and a current Board
position on the
Advocacy and
Legislative Committee for RESOLVE of New
England. As a member of the
American Society of
Reproductive Medicine, she sits on
the Legal
Practitioners Group. Recently, Amy
was invited to join the
Executive Committee
of the Reproductive Law Section of the
American Bar Association; she is
also a regular contributor to the
American Fertility
Association.
Considered an industry expert in third-party
reproduction, Amy is a published author and
regular speaker on topics related to
alternative family building, including as a
guest lecturer on the topic at
Tufts
University. She
has recently been quoted in
The Chicago Tribune,
interviewed by NPR,
Vanity Fair magazine, CNN,
The Boston
Globe, The Boston Herald and The Jewish
Advocate. Amy also has
contributed to a documentary on
family-building through egg donation and
surrogacy.
Most importantly,
along with her husband, Amy is the proud and
blessed parent of teen-age twins conceived
through In Vitro Fertilization.
